Is the rate different in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam?
No. The market rate is one national number: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Makkah all price from the same global market converted to riyals. What differs between shops is the making charge and the margin, so compare the per-gram rate and the making charge separately. We do not publish shop prices for any city, because we have no source for them.

How this rate is calculated
We take the global price of one troy ounce of pure gold in US dollars, convert it at the official peg of 3.75 riyals per dollar, divide by 31.1035 grams, then multiply by karat ÷ 24. Karat is simply how much of the metal is gold: 24K is pure, 22K is 91.7%, 21K is 87.5% and 18K is 75%.
